COVID-19 Testing with same-day results

Holtzman Medical Group now offers COVID-19 testing. You do not need to be a patient of Holtzman Medical Group to obtain a test.

We offer testing both for individuals who have symptoms or an exposure, and for those who require a negative test for travel or other reasons. Please choose the appropriate option when booking.

Test results: Test results will be delivered the same-day, often within 1 hour of testing

Location: Our testing site is at 1180 Beacon Street Suite 6B Brookline, MA. When you arrive, please follow the instructions in your confirmation email. We are unable to take walk-ins at this time.

The Test: We utilize the Abbott ID NOW COVID 19 NAAT. This is a nucleic acid amplification test. It works by amplifying and detecting RNA in the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID 19. This test is both highly sensitive and specific for SARS-CoV-2.

 

Book Your Testing Appointment

If you have been exposed to COVID or have symptoms of COVID:

  1. Schedule a telemedicine appointment

  2. After your appointment, if appropriate, the provider will schedule you for a test

  3. Go the testing site at your scheduled time; see confirmation email for more instructions

  4. Login to the patient portal to see the results


If you need to be tested for travel or other reasons without any recent exposure or symptoms:

  1. Schedule a test appointment by calling the office at 781-770-4064

  2. Pay the $85 fee

  3. Go to the testing site at your scheduled time; see confirmation email for more instructions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is this test valid for travel?

A: The Abbott ID NOW NAAT is valid for travel to most places. It is the patient’s responsibility to confirm that this test meets travel requirements. Please check with your airline and/or country of destination for additional requirements and restrictions. We also recommend reviewing the CDC Travel Testing website.

Q: Is this covered by insurance ?

A: Patient responsibility, or your out-of-pocket cost, for COVID-19 testing is based on your specific insurance coverage and plan. Please contact your insurance carrier for details about your plan details and coverage, including copays, before you visit to understand your financial responsibility. Insurance covers most cases of testing where symptoms and/or a known exposure have occurred.

Q: How long will I have to wait for my results?

A: Most test results are available and posted to your portal within an hour. Depending on testing volume, this may be delayed. All results will be posted the same day that testing occurs.

Q: Can I walk in for a COVID-19 test?

A: All testing must have an appointment. We are unable to take walk-ins at this time. If no appointments are available, please contact the office at 781-770-4064 to check for additional availability.
